And the Reviews Continue: Cannes Film Festival 2017 pt deux

Cannes Film Festival 2017

Ok so we are not French but “pt deux” sounds cute right. Alright maybe not. Anyway we are so excited to talk about the fashion at Cannes. Did you see our post last week? There was so much going on we thought we’d better narrow things down a bit. Well being that there are so many other things going on in fashion and so many things to talk about we are going to have to cram the rest in this week.

First let me give you the stats. This year the festival was from May 17, 2017 to May 28, 2017. It was held in beautiful Cannes, Frances. The opening film was Ismael’s Ghosts. Ismael’s Ghosts is a 2017 French drama directed by Amaud Desplechin as per Wikipedia. It was hosted by Monica Belluci. She is an Italian actress and fashion model. You may remember her best as the sexy wife of the bad program (no I don’t remember his name...that was a long time ago) that did not take crap very well.

I know we said we would talk about who should stay home but I think everyone had at least one good moment. Sadly to say Rihanna (my fashion muse) was not at the top of my list of favorites. Well she wasn’t really on the list at all. Don’t shoot me. We absolutely jadore her and she is usually at the top of my list. I mean did you see her at the Met Gala. Ok, anyway, she looks beautiful but in a frumpy sort of way. I am used to seeing Rihanna take fashion risks that are usually very smart or wear things that are very flattering. Here are our top picks for Rihanna wearing such designers as Chopard and Christian Dior and some looks we were a little shocked to see.

Not to spend time recapping last week we would like to talk about some other allstars from the week. Let’s take a look at Bella Hadid, Kendall Jenner, Tilda Swinton and Nicole Kidman. These ladies were consistent with great fashion, fabulous fit, taking some fashion risks (and winning) and looking like they were having a great time.

To start Bella Hadid was a show stopper from day one wearing a gown by Alexandre Vauthier on opening night. She also wore the likes of Christian Dior and Bulgari. Check some of her amazing choices below:

If we say Bella Hadid I feel this is a good time to mention Kendall Jenner who was also a show stopper.

Kendall took a risk mixing casual with couture in denim shorts and sexy one shoulder top by Alexandre Vauthier Ensemble. She also wore gowns by Ralph Russo, and Giambattista Valli to name a few.

Nicole Kidman was also divine in her selections for the festival. She of course looked beautiful with her infectious smile and stunning stature. And wearing such designers as Chanel, Michael Kors Collection, Rodarte and Alexander McQueen certainly didn’t hurt.

And of course, speaking of stature we can not forget to mention Tilda Swinton. She has mastered the art of taking fashion risks and does not disappoint here.

Seems like we could go on for days as there were so many beautiful looks but we must stop swooning. Let us know your favorites on our Instagram page. We’d love to hear from you.
